All library patrons with active accounts can check out library materials that are available in the General Collection. Books are circulated for three weeks, with renewals allowed according to patron type for another corresponding three weeks.
The following materials are currently library use only:
Student Book Check-Outs:
All Students must be registered for the current semester to check out materials. Students will use their student id numbers to check out books. No card is needed for book borrowing.
Staff/Faculty Book Check-Outs:
All current ECC faculty/staff may check out General Collection books.
ECC Staff/Faculty can check-out 5 books at one time, 14 total on account
Items can circulate for three-week increments, can be renewed up to three times each semester
Lost or overly damaged materials must be replaced with a copy in good condition.
Books must be returned at the end of each semester.
Community Members:
Members of the surrounding areas (South Bay, Carson, Compton, Hawthorne, Gardena, Harbor City, etc.) can request to borrow physical materials from the library’s General Collection. Accounts are good for one year at the time of creation.
Community circulation guidelines:
Must provide proof of residency (Driver's license, bill, state issued identification, etc.)
Check out up to a max of 5 books on account at one time.
Late books must be returned before checking out additional materials.
Does not include access to online library resources that require active student registration (study room access, computer labs, Wi-Fi, or music practice rooms).
Does not include access to Reserve items (ECC student use only).
Inter Library Loan services are not accessible by outside community members.
