As researchers we also need to mindful of the information we gather is accurate and justly portrays the community being discussed. We need to ask questions such as who created the piece of information? Are they from the community or an outsider? Oftentimes, the information we are seeking exist on the open web rather than OneSearch. Being able to detect whether information is accurate or not is crucial as community voices and experts within a community might not be associated with traditional scholarship but rather share information via independent publishing, YouTube videos, Podcasts, Blogs, Social Media, Oral Histories, and more.
