Photo 150 - The Art of Photography: Photography Websites

With over 25,000 works, this is one of the most important collections of modern and contemporary photography in the world and includes work not only by artists, but also by journalists, scientists, entrepreneurs, and amateurs.

This collection contains works of many of the medium's celebrated practitioners, including collection the Alfred Stieglitz Collection, the Julien Levy Collection, with more than 200 photographs by Edward Weston, and the work of Paul Strand, Eugéne Atget, and André Kertész.

Featuring nearly 1700 artworks by more than 575 artists, the Collection Online presents a searchable database of selected artworks from the Guggenheim’s permanent collection of over 7,000 artworks. Google Art Project is an online platform through which the public can access high-resolution images of artworks housed in the initiative’s partner museums. The platform enables users to virtually tour partner museums’ galleries, explore physical and contextual information about artworks, and compile their own virtual collection. Google has partnership agreements with 151 museums from 40 countries.
