If you are new to OER and interested in learning more about the planned ZTC Degree Pathways, consider participating in El Camino's self-paced Canvas course "Demystifying OER, ZTC Degrees & the Equity Connection"

This course explores the fundamental connections between Open Educational Resources (OER), Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) degree programs and statewide Equity and Guided Pathways initiatives. You will employ an equity cognitive frame to examine the impact of textbook costs on student success, and the disproportionate impact on historically underserved students. You will also dig into the growing research on OER efficacy, explore OER repositories, learn how to remix and create OER and review case studies on successful ZTC pathways, across the state and beyond. You will leave this course understanding how OER and ZTC pathways promote student success and reduce equity gaps, supporting the Vision for Success of the California Community Colleges.

ECC faculty are eligible for up to 8 hours of Flex Credit (2 hours per completed module) or a $500 stipend sponsored by the statewide ZTC Degree Program grant (while funds are available).

Register using this this form and you will be automatically enrolled into the Canvas course.
